The taste of Menorca on your plate: when the buffet becomes an experience

A holiday in Menorca is about much more than a change of scenery: it’s about changing your pace, letting mornings begin slowly, letting afternoons stretch out by the sea, and letting dinners become moments to share, discover and enjoy without rushing.

At Minura Hotels, we know that gastronomy is an essential part of that experience, which is why we take care of every detail so that every meal tells a story too.
This approach to dining has just received a very special accolade for our buffet at Minura Sur Menorca. Our culinary offering has been recognised with the award for the Best All-You-Can-Eat Buffet at the Foodies on Menorca Awards 2026. An award that celebrates the quality, locally sourced produce and diversity of a menu designed both for our guests and for those who wish to savour the island through its cuisine.

Local produce, Menorcan identity and the MiEco philosophy

What sets a conventional buffet apart from a memorable one? The answer always starts with the raw ingredients. As part of MiEco, our sustainability programme and commitment to the environment, we prioritise zero-kilometre and locally sourced produce whenever possible.

Working with local suppliers allows us to support Menorcan farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen, reduce our carbon footprint and, above all, bring fresh, seasonal and flavourful ingredients to the table. Cheese with the Mahón-Menorca Protected Designation of Origin, vegetables grown under the island’s sun, fish and our veal, amongst others – not to mention the traditional recipes that sit alongside creative dishes, so that every guest can discover Menorca through their palate as well.

A buffet for everyone: variety, technology and peace of mind

Travelling as a family, as a couple or with friends means sharing a table with very different tastes and needs. Some people look for vegetarian or vegan options; others require gluten-free choices or need to pay special attention to certain allergens. For us, simply offering variety isn’t enough, which is why we want every guest to be able to choose safely, comfortably and with confidence.
At our buffets, we use dynamic, multilingual and easy-to-read e-ink labels that clearly display information about the dishes and any allergens they contain. These labels help you choose at a glance, but they never replace the friendliness and professionalism of our dining room staff, who are always on hand to answer any questions you may have and assist you with whatever you need.

The Menorcan pace: eating without constantly checking the clock

If you’re coming from the UK, France, Germany or northern Europe, you may find that lunch and dinner times in Menorca come as a surprise at first. Here, especially in summer, the day unfolds at a different pace: people make the most of the daylight hours, enjoy the beach until late, and hunger usually strikes when the island suggests it should.

Embracing this pace isn’t a drawback, but part of the pleasure of being on holiday. Away from the daily grind, there’s no longer such a rush, and you’ll find yourself wanting to have a leisurely breakfast, linger over coffee after lunch, enjoy an aperitif at sunset or sit down to dinner without a thought for the next day’s alarm.

The Mediterranean diet: health, flavour and wellbeing

For many of our guests, discovering Mediterranean cuisine in Menorca is also a way of reconnecting with a simpler, fresher and more balanced diet. Olive oil, seasonal vegetables, juicy fruit, pulses, fish, freshly prepared rice dishes and home-cooked recipes fill the tables with colour and make eating well one of the great pleasures of your holiday.
At Minura Hotels, we want you to experience this Mediterranean richness without any fuss. You can try new flavours, enjoy your favourite dishes again, or combine international dishes with locally inspired recipes. The important thing is that you feel at ease and that every meal becomes part of your holiday memories.

Recognition for a job well done

The Foodies on Menorca Award 2026, awarded to Minura Sur Menorca, confirms a belief we share across all our hotels: a good buffet is not measured solely by variety, but by quality, attention to detail and the ability to make every guest feel looked after.

Whether you’re planning your next getaway or are already enjoying a few days with us, we invite you to sit down at your leisure, choose whatever takes your fancy and let Menorca win you over with its flavours too. At our buffets, every dish is a little way of saying to you: welcome, you’re on holiday, and as we say in Menorcan, Bon profit!
