Who is Minura Hotels?
Great companies are born from dreams, from illusions, from innovation, from passion, from creativity.
In the 1970s, some businessmen from the Balearic Islands decided to join forces and embark on a project in the tourism sector. At that time tourism was a booming business and economic sector, but at the same time with an uncertain future. So they set to work with the construction of two tourist resorts on the south coast of Menorca, one in the central area, Cala Galdana, and the other in the eastern part of the island, Biniancolla.
After two years of work, the Hotel Cala Galdana & Villas d’Aljandar opened its doors in 1971 with 3 stars and the Hotel Sur Menorca in 1973 with 2 stars. Over the years what started as a company has grown into a family business and today our hotels each have 4 stars and have been adapted to provide the best services for our clients.
Always with our hospitable Balearic and Menorcan character, with our enthusiasm to welcome all visitors to the island in the best possible way and, above all, to make the wonders of Menorca known and respected, our hotels have evolved over the years until today, when we have launched a new brand, MINURA.
From the very beginning, one of the values we have emphasised as a company has been the integration of tourism into Menorcan civil society, which we have always involved in tourist activities. Our hotels have been a school for training our workers, they have been organisers of sporting competitions, cultural and social events on numerous occasions, talks on all kinds of subjects; political, economic, social and cultural.
Our values are always based on respect for the environment, for nature, for Menorca, for our island. We are constantly developing and implementing environmental policies, corporate social responsibility, the consumption of local products and the promotion of the local circular economy. We are a company on paper, but in reality we are a big family. Our human relationships with our clients go back to our very beginnings. Today we welcome the grandchildren of the first adventurous tourists who in the 1970s discovered a paradise in the Mediterranean. Today you will be welcomed to the hotel by the children or grandchildren of the first workers who helped to build our hotels.
