We are proud to introduce our new corporate identity: new name, new colors, new logo, and new image. We remain the same in essence but with a renewed image that pays homage to our origins and our vocation of service as excellent hosts of Menorca, our most precious treasure.
Over the past few years, we have modernized our hotels, created new businesses such as our water park, and optimized our facilities to be more efficient and environmentally friendly. This change in corporate identity is for all of you, our valuable clients.
We took the time to ensure that this important change was done right. The result is a response to multiple proposals and many hours of discussion, in which we rediscovered our true identity: the place to enjoy Menorca your way, without rush, as we, the Menorcans, do. We wanted a timeless, simple, clean image that perfectly identified what we do. Every color and every shape has its explanation!
MINURA HOTELS: The fusion of tradition, nature, and history in our new brand
At MINURA HOTELS, we are proud to present our new brand, which represents the fusion of two words that symbolize the tradition, nature, and history that is breathed in Menorca.
The name “Nura” has its origin in the word with which the Phoenicians baptized our beautiful island centuries ago. It means “land of fire,” due to the numerous bonfires that were seen on its coasts when they sailed through its waters between the 8th and 7th centuries BC. This name is a tribute to the rich history of Menorca and its importance for Mediterranean culture.
On the other hand, the pronoun “Mi” represents the spirit of hospitality and good reception of the Menorcans towards foreign visitors. For centuries, Menorca has been nourished by all the cultures that have settled on its land, which has led to our current language, with words such as “xubec” (from English) or the prefix “bini” (son of in Arabic), and has enriched our gastronomic culture with dishes such as cuscusó or manjar blanc. Menorca is everyone’s land, your land, my land.
How have we graphically represented this name? At MINURA HOTELS, we have chosen Talayotic culture as the starting point for our corporate image. Using the taula as the basic construction element, we have elaborated our letter “M,” which represents the initial letter of Menorca. Additionally, to convey our value of family, unity, and generations in the service of our clients, we have added several “M” in a circle, that precisely simulate those values that are so important to us.
Regarding typography, we have worked on a continuity of defined lines, maintaining a symmetrical structure that is balanced with an organic drawing and a particular digital flavor, according to the new times. The strong typographical details add great modernity tension while maintaining comfortable reading, finding the right balance between a graphic but fluid font. The low ascenders and descenders allow us to place the text with a reduced line spacing, allowing us to economize space. The variation of weights with their corresponding italics forms a coherent and versatile family.
Regarding color, at MINURA HOTELS, we want to show the other side of Menorca, the one that allows us to show ourselves as we are. We are Menorcans, we love the land that our farmers so generously and with so much effort provide us with the best food. For us, the color of Menorca is the color of the earth, the sand, its dry stone walls, the color that does not change throughout the year. That will be our main color, in perfect communion with the white of the Menorcan houses or the marès quarries.
